Individually, both entities led mentorship, screening and health outreaches, support group and welfare initiatives and educational interventions, along with research, infrastructure and fundraising projects. They also prioritised participation and networking with local and international stakeholder groups.

Collaboratively, the organisations’ joint mandate was to significantly curb sickle cell disease related morbidity and mortality by running ongoing educational campaigns to inform the public about the intricacies of the disease, subsidising consultations and treatment and providing varying types of support to patients and families. Over the five years covering 2018 - 2022, the organisations’ joint interventions directly impacted over 150,000 people.
